GIGAFEEDER is a large-parts machining center that can be equipped with up to six spindles and is based on Sugino Machine's drilling/tapping unit “SELFEEDER”. Developed for the purpose of cutting large EV parts (aluminum frame parts and battery trays), this single machine can perform drilling, tapping, and even milling using cutters and end mills.

✔ Achieves space savings while having a wide machining area that can accommodate large EV parts
The standard four horizontal spindles have a machining area of 1,850 mm on the X axis, 1,450 mm on the Y axis, and 350 mm on the Z axis, suitable for machining large EV parts. Compared to large-size machining centers, which require workpieces to be placed horizontally for machining, the installation space is significantly smaller, contributing to space savings on production lines.
✔ Various module configurations enable optimum line layouts to match the conditions
The module configuration can be changed to best suit the cycle time, conveyance system, and production line layout required by each factory. Even if the parts to be produced change in the future, by re-combining the modules, the equipment can be easily converted, making it a versatile and highly flexible.
Currently, most manufacturing sites for large EV parts use a combination of large-size machining centers and robots. However, there are probably many workplaces that have some issues, such as installation costs, machining accuracy, and installation space.
The GIGAFEEDER can solve all of these problems at once. Furthermore, even if the parts to be machined change in the future, a single unit of this highly versatile equipment can flexibly accommodate such changes.
